A Chapter of the National Audubon Society
Organized in 1980, Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society serves
Collin County and surrounding counties. We invite you and your family
to join our all volunteer range of nature-oriented activities. Monthly
meetings are scheduled the 4th Tuesday, 7:00pm, September through November and January through
May. They include programs related to wildlife, ecology, conservation
and of course, BIRDS!
Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society is a 501(c)(3) charitable
organization.
Monthly Meeting Place
Starting on September 25th the
PTAS meeting place will be in the Science Resource Center at the Heard.
Directions: After passing
through the gate continue straight passed the museum building to the end
of the road. The large building is the SRC.

PTAS Field Trips
Field
trips are mostly Saturday or Sunday day trips. Occasional extended trips
offer special opportunities to visit outstanding birding areas with a
group. All trips have an experienced leader eager to help beginners see
and enjoy new birds. Navigate to our Field

PTAS Birding Classes
With
the help of our own expert birders, you can learn to identify local
birds by attending our monthly birding class. Classes are from 7:15 to
7:40 PM at the Heard Museum, just prior to our monthly meeting and program.
There is an informal discussion during social hour. No need to register.

PTAS Chapter Meetings
Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society meets the fourth
Tuesday of the month, September through November, and January through
May at the Heard Natural Science Museum in McKinney. All of our
meetings are free and open to the public. For more
