BPRC First Saturday Walk

Join PTAS naturalist guides for an immersive morning walk through the beautiful grounds of the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center. Wind through native prairie trails, explore the woodland edge habitat, check out the shorebirds on the bank of Lake Lavon, and pause at the bird blind — where a water drip and feeders help draw in some of the area's most dazzling species up close. From brilliantly colored Painted Buntings to soaring egrets, the BPRC offers a surprising diversity of birds right in the heart of North Texas.

The walk is part of BPRC's First Saturday event, which includes themed, family-friendly hands-on activities and games, a live raptor program, native prairie walks, and the bird walk. Admission to the entire event is pre-purchased at $15 per adult and $10 per child (age 13 & under); at the door: $20 per adult and $15 per child (age 13 & under). Children age 3 and under are free.
